Duaiv is a French-American painter best known for his brightly colored depictions of sail boats, horse races, and bustling markets in France and America. Duaiv’s work is influenced by the work of Impressionist painters like Vincent van Gogh and Paul Cézanne, though his work is distinct for its use on electric primary colors and thick, textural application of paint. Born on July 26, 1952 near Bordeaux, France, he attended the Conservatoire Nationale de Musique in Paris for cello and the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris for painting before emigrating to the United States in June 2011. The artist lives and works in Fort Lauderdale, FL.
