William Marlow began his art career as a printmaker. He was introduced to many different print mediums in High School in Denver, working with dry point, silkscreen, monotype, monoprint, block printing and, Intaglio or, also known as the etching process. Zinc plates became the artists choice and his work in high school soon gained national recognition having been awarded the National Scholastics Award in art. After studying Etching, Lithography, Drawing and, Painting at the Kansas City Art Institute in Kansas City, Missouri, William soon began selling his limited editions all across the U.S. in over 40 galleries. We are showing most of Williams etching catalogue on the ETCHINGS CATALOGUE page. There are some pieces missing and are soon to be added as the artist lost most all of his plates, proofs, artists proofs and inventory in a fire in the early 1990’s and has had to search for the actual artworks over the years.
The artist began to work more frequently with paint as his interest in the impressionists in the mid to late 1800’s increased. ” I started thinking about paint all of the time and how I wanted to express myself with the medium”. William began to paint more often and mainly used the landscape as his platform to paint. While still working with his printmaking sensibilities, Marlow began to paint prolifically. He is currently working with art reps and consultants who are selling his paintings all across the country.
